He-Man and the Webmasters of the Universe..
February 23, 2009
What kind of name is He-man anyway? Okay, I know it’s sweet, but more outdated than an Archie Bunker rant at this point. Other nominees for the heading of this post were:
- Webmaster of my domain
- Jedi Webmaster“Webmaster of my domain” should have won, but now it’s too late. If you don’t get the reference, you weren’t of prime-time TV watching age in the 90’s.
I’ve made some changes here and there – had some complaints that the music player wasn’t immediately apparent – so i made a little icon thingy to go over on the top right-hand-side.. I also added a search form at the bottom right – eventually these posts will add up and be lost from this main page.. Thanks to all for visiting.. There are many things brewing and I will continue to try and post updates and little clippings frequently. I don’t know what an RSS feed is, or how it works, but I hear it has something to do with blogs, which I guess this kind of is..
Some things coming up:
March: CMW, Roseq, Junos
April: Touring Canada (cool announcement pending..)
May: Touring UK – The Great Escape in Brighton
July/August: Touring Canada
Fall: More Canada, Australia and USA
Winter: Mexican WrestlingCiao,
Dan

Rademachers on Richards on Richards..
February 19, 2009
Several years back, while on a money-losing tour down the west coast of the USA with Mark Berube, several fine people from Fresno, California helped us with a gig and set us up with friendly smiles all the while.. I’d met them in Las Cruces, New Mexico a few months prior, and have since seen them play some rad shows. The band is Rademacher – and they are definitely to be checked out. Not only are they a great band, but some of the sweetest peeps this side of the delta.

Last night went to catch them at Richards on Richards – which has been rumoured to be closing for about 6 years and somehow keeps out of the path of Vancouver’s condo-tornado. Rademacher has been on the road with LA buzz-band The Airborne Toxic Event and another great band called The Henry Clay People.. They reminded me a lot of Arkells..

They crashed with me and the lady and today we showed them some of the locales we enjoy. The Californians even got to see some left-over-brown-icy snow at the peak of Queen Elizabeth Park which, of course, induced a brief snowball frenzy.

Enough about me..
February 14, 2009
My good pals in Said The Whale also have a brand new spiffy website.. give ‘er a go:
They’re busy in the studio working on a new album – can’t wait to see what gems they come out with.. They are the sweetest dudes around, and are breaking waves all over the place.
Also – speaking of Said The Whale, my old roommate and poster/album designer extraordinaire Colin Moore has started a cool company called “Abandon T-shirts” – as in “A-Band-On”.. it’s a T-shirt subscription where you get original shirts inspired by the lyrics of a song of a featured band. You get the shirt and a limited edition EP (of featured band) in the mail every six weeks.. nifty..
Thanks to all for the responses on the new website! After weeks of hardly looking up from the laptop, I have time to do things like clean, go grocery shopping, eat food previously shopped for, you get the picture. Thanks also to those who have pre-ordered the EP.. Can’t wait to get it out there.
